i man i visited in walsaw uk kept his birds in lofts two feet wide and three feet high by four foot deep and in almost darkness he fled them every other day and his kits were brilliant when liberated, very tightly kitted and on a good day all going over together,he passed on a few years ago now but i dare say his birds are stiil about in one form or another.

Steroids, honey, darkness....it all depends on your birds. My advice is to learn your birds. Try different thing and take lots of notes. If you try something different...take the time to let what you are trying have an affect. For example, if you are switching from wheat to a wheat milo mix...don't just switch for one day and think you are going to have this great reaction..you have to give the switch time to react within the birds. What ever change you make to feed...give it at least a week. The darkness, honey, coffee or whatever trick you want to try....you just have to try it and take notes....and try it more then one time. When yout take notes...just don't write down.."gave them honey"...you have to write down ...the time between feedings and what you fed the day before, when you gave them the secret potion, what the weather was like; wind speed, direction, temp, overcast, clear, spot clouds..and so on...because even weather will have different affects on the birds. There is more to getting the birds to react then just adding something to the water or just giving them darkness...the main thing is good conditioning, healthy birds, consistant fly schedule, a lot of luck and most of all starting out with decent birds....most of all..take notes have an open mind and LEARN your birds!

If it was that easy to get them to roll better..we would all have huge scores! You have to take into consideration that these are living animals that have a mind of there own and they will only do good when they are feeling good. YOu have to try a little of everything and keep trying what works...if it does not work..don't keep banging your head against the wall..all you will do is hurt your head....I have darkened my kit box and it does nothing for my birds....so you have to do what works for you..what works for some..may not work for others!
