Thats to bad Rauf. I was going to start flying 9 of the 11 I flew in the fall fly because I haven't had a coopers in a week now, but today my young 19 bird kit got hit first thing and 8 skyed out and flew 3 hrs. I didn't lose any.I have 2 other kits I didn,t fly after that. I got 16 squeeks that flew 23 min. a few days ago On the firt time they took off after setting and flying short flights. from the loft I was proud of them, They all flew as a kit except one. He's 2 weeks younger and never flew before but he flew 15 min. all over the sky by himself.I love watching squeek's kits learning to land they crack me up!! Take care Rauf. Tapp ---------- Tapp

Tapp, Yeah,,the squeaks are fun to watch but difficult to keep an eye on when they are all over the place.Always on the lookout for preds.Love it when they start to kit!Can put two eyes on them then stead of going crosseyed. Those coopers can be deadly when birds are landing but only one had success in last couple weeks. One kit was chased off the roof 3 times the other day when they were trying to come in.Flew 1.5 hours and made it in all safe 10 minutes after sunset. Can't beleive I didn't lose any!!!!!!!!That time.Keep 'em flying, Kel.

You hit that right Kelly!! Them old one's don't miss much. The young brown one's miss and chase a lot. Sometimes they chase them enough that they have a heart attack in mid chase.; ---------- Tapp

Besides,3 or 4 months from now you'll be able to breed more.Just get that foster program going.Good luck. Yours in the Sport, Kel. ---------- Kelly

Sid, hawks are here in West central N.J., but I've had good luck flying early afternoon. Overcast rainy days like today I can fly with pretty good luck. One thing I've learned from this board is to lock down for 3 or 4 days after a successful attack. The worst thing you can do is to develop a "resident" coopers. Useing an air horn, banging on a garbage can lid, screaming at the top of your lungs all seem to break the concentration of an attacking Coopers. Falcons are another story, but I've never had one set up residence around here. They are just migrating through. My birds come into the roll late so I have to keep on flying to find out what I have. Right now I've got 42 young birds left. I'll keep flying until I'm down to 20 or so. For me it's almost an addiction-a day just doesn't seen complete unless I've flown my birds.

Sour, I hear you on the flying everyday.
When I don`t fly my yb`s look at me like" Hey!You! You forgot something! We have been stuck in here all day. Sitting on these little tiny perches looking at each other, pooping all over the place, watching those damned sparrows flitting around the yard.
The only highlight of the day is getting a drink of water. we need to talk about that too. That tap water isn`t gonna get it.Tastes like a rubber hose. If you want some action from us,we want some Perrier with a lemon twist.Individual place settings in a nice Tiffany pattern would be nice too. Cobalt color. The seed looks more appetizing on cobalt. The John Wayne toilet paper doesn`t take shit off of anyone. Charmin would be much better. A little padding on the perches would be nice too.
Now have your people get with my people and they`ll do lunch and tell what we agreed to. ---------- If they don`t kit, they don`t score. Color don`t roll and peds don`t fly. It`s a comp thing, understand?
