How come about 80% of my rollers end up being roosters? I never get enough good hens.

Well..if they are roosters...you have a HUGE problem..LOL!!! Roosters are chickens....I think you mean more cocks then hens...a cock is a male pigeon.

To answer your question...somtimes it just happens that way...last year I had a lot of cocks...this year I have a lot of hens...so go figure...that is just mother nature!

I usualy breed just about an even number between cocks and hens. Although, if you breed an excellent cock, hold on to it. Excellent cocks are hard to come by, in my openion.

I also feel that stock cocks are hard to come by and are worth their weight in gold. My problem is that they usually piss me off so bad I get rid of them before they can prove themselves. I've got one young cock right now that shows alot of promise but the bugger wants to top everything in sight and hates to trap, no matter how much you starve him.
