Hi Ron, Thats great! I'm in southern Mi. and I fly three kits a day and haven't seen a coopers in a few weeks. I got a pesky sparrow hawk and a couple of redtails but they don't bother them much. I got a squeeker kit to start flying in a few days. I'll fly all winter. did last year and not to mamy coopers came by.I'm pretty much in open country. Take care, and good luck flying your birds.

Things are great here to. Not many sharks at all. There is a red tail but he doesn't pay them any mind.

I have not had much for attacks either...I had a real young Cooper chase the kit...it seamed like the birds were playing with it....then nothing for about a month...Then a little hen got nailed from my A-team...then another month......then I got hit 4 days ago and took a bird from my B-team..it was a big old hen cooper's..took a bird that was not showing much yet...so They have been locked down since...I will fly again on Monday...I am going to throw up a couple retards first....and then start flying...my Red Tails are still around and they help out a lot..the two times I was hit...the red tails must have been out hunting..anyway..pretty light here too.

You guys in the open country are lucky for that! There is a young Coopers around here that every one out of three times I've been flying my birds,he comes in and raises hell.Usually I can manage to chase him off with roman candles, but if I don't keep a solid eye watching,he'll come back and chase again.Haven't seen him actually snag a bird yet but he's driven one into the ground SOOO hard thud and a couple have been hurt from going into the trees,I've lost three in the last few weeks. He's chased them up so many times they just want to fly high almost outta sight so locked my A-team down and cut their mix out to just straight wheat for awhile before going to wheat milo. They are too strong, but I'm afraid to let them out when the time comes in a few days because of this friggin hawk.Maybe it's time to go into the preservation mode???till spring????To bad I'm not into guns. The WIFE would change the locks on the door and I'd have to move onto my boat if I did that!!!
You know, this one kit I was given from Al Hunt(Neible birds)has 12 red checks and red bars and not one of those red ones has been lost in 2 months of flying them!Them reds seem to be invinsible.

It's been good now for months I have a red shoulder hawk and he sit around yard and makes a lot a noise doesn't attack the pigeons got a bantam and a duckling or 2 but I will keep them put up. I don't spend the time or money on them that I do on my pigeons.

Coopers and falcons have been hitting my birds. Number one team is on lock down mode. I will try to fly the young ones out as much as I can without loosing too many. I lost 4 last week and two yester day.

My comp team is locked down, and I have stopped flying the "B". I am still trying to fly (2) kits of young birds, but the falcon hits me just about every time I fly.
