Another cooper got into my coupe and killed another roller :(
O well He never left the property:)
Is anyone still fying there rollers>?> And if not the what should i feed them in the winter to keep there fat down?

How are the hawks getting into your kit box? If you don't have a folding landing board that covers your traps, you should make one. Alot of folks have learned the hard way.
IMO a little fat during the winter won't hurt them especially if it gets cold where you are at. You can easily slim them down come spring.

My birds have been in lockdown 10 days now and there are LOTS of predators around.You're in Abbottsford aren't you?Not too cold a winters.Not to fat too much over winter,I've gone to a feed of 3 parts wheat,1 part milo and one part barley for my kitbirds.3/4 cup per 10 birds.Man,you'd better fix your problem with your loft so the coop can't get in there or soon you'll have no birds left.

I am still flying.....I get the occasional Cooper that comes through during the migration...I have only lost 3 birds to Coopers this year...and all three were caught by Coopers moving through. ....I do have a young cooper that chases the kit every now and then...but is not even close to catching one.....plus ...the weather in Central Cali..is still pretty good...so the coopers are not straving yet....when they do....that young one will get dumb and have an accident. Anyway...I lock down for a week or so if I get a cooper coming in everyday...
