Topic on Earls was to get a roller program on Animal Planet. Here`s the link to them if you care to plug the rollers.
http://extweb.discovery.com/viewerrelations ---------- If they don`t kit,they don`t score. Color don`t roll and peds don`t fly. It`s a comp thing,understand?

That's an interesting video but it might need updating.
The video mentions the Mayor of London having removed the food source from Trafalgar Square in order to cut pigeon numbers. This is true. It also mentions that people rebelled against this, knowing that many pigeons would starve. This is only partially true. It failed to mention that just as many people supported the move to remove the food source, not least because so many monuments and historic buildings in and around Trafalgar Square were covered in pigeon crap.
I remember reading the London Evening Standard at the time the proposals were about to be implemented and the views of the readers were sought. There were far more people in favour of getting rid of the 'flying rats' than against.
Moving on a few years, I was at Trafalgar Square in the summer and the situation is as follows: There are no food sellers and a bylelaw prohibits pigeon feeding there. This is a criminal offence, punishable by a fine of up to £50.
A man walks around with a hawk and releases it every few minutes to scare the remaining pigeons away. I actually took a picture of the hawk sitting on its own on a wall, observing the pigeons. It then took off, scared them up then returned to its handler.

Kelly, they're just sitting on my AppleMac at the moment, as opposed to anywhere on the web, but I'm happy to email you the two pics of relevance - one with the bird and its handler and the other with it standing in anticipation at its lookout. Looking at the bird again, it's probably a falcon, not a hawk - it's a fair size.
