RollerJoe you kind of get that feeling. If you also bring this up cause of the color bird post thats why i dont get into that talk i breed Pensom rollers original color and feel the birds will do the talking in the air and have nothing against what somebody else is doing that is thier choice.

Joe,
the answer is no. There are a lot of really great Questions asked on here and will usually get honest opinions from the readers. Some questions are more controversial than others and, yes , they will sometimes hit a nerve. But thats just a part of discussion amoung friends. Sometimes a fella seams to take it personal, but usually I`m sure it wasnt meant that way.
This is a sport of passion, a passion for theese birds and, sometimes the emotions will flow. Its kinda like going to a Hot Rod convention and asking an old Ford Coupe owner why he did`nt choose an old Chevy deuce. Personally I prefer the old Ford because it is the ORIGINAL old HOT ROD. The deuce is for low budget engine builders that didnt want to spend the bucks it takes to build a real engine...LOL.. Now just watch this Joe..... All in fun

Hey Joe, as in nature, eventually everything self-corrects. Most members know when things are going south.
I have found that this site is mostly self-correcting in that the members and Moderators will more than likely get things back on a proper track before long.
The best forums (of any kind) will have lively and passionate debate. If this bothers you, consider it the price to pay in order to have an open dialogue with some of the best roller people around.
We have not had a real controversy here since August of 2006, lets see, thats September, October, November and now its December, thats about 3 to 4 months.
Not so bad when you look at it from the perspective of time. You just have to learn to keep it all in perspective and let things run their course with minimal heavy-handedness.
Like the post Batlizard BLAHed me on, I did not take offense to his words, I guess I could have, but I when I consider the number of posts Batlizard has on this site (8 at the time) and the level of support he provides to the site in terms of positive posts, product purchases or passing on information or insight that I or others find useful...he has little if any credibility to me at this point.
There are a large number of people who find the info here to be of extreme value and enjoy the site immensely. I can't please everyone. Read my post that Batlizard BLAHed me on and you will see my point. ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

Tony,
In all fairness - that "BLAH" was a sarcastic attempt at pointing out there was nothing useful from the senseless ramblings and jabs going on. No "meat" as they say. I agree with your stand point of attempting to learn and understand another's point of view or opinion. Only if there is any value to what's being said will the other party be (1) receptive and (2) walk away with anything new.

ALRIGHT ANOTHER POST FOR ROCKY! LOL
Hey Rocky, your attempt at sarcasm fell flat with me, thats not to say you did not have a valid point.
I remember when mom came into the room, most of us boys learned early not to sass her unless you was cruisin for a bruisin. LOL That's the way I saw your post.

Tony, This one was actually pretty decent as far as the name calling and childish behavior compared to previous controversial threads. Lets all go over to Kelly`s and have a beer. He makes that good Canadian Stout. Hey Scott and David, you coming? Billings is halfway there already. ---------- If they don`t kit, they don`t score. Color don`t roll and peds don`t fly. It`s a comp thing, understand?

True a fire needs fuel to burn but it also needs a spark to start! Speaking for myself, I love a great debate and often learn alot from them but there is a healthy way of debating without offending others. The day the N.P.R.A. post came out, I went to that site to research what got Scott heated up. I expected to find a recent post where someone flamed this site or a poster on this site. I did not find any such post although I may have overlooked it. Since I didn't find anything I re-read the post by Scott and spent some time thinking it over. I still could not figure out why it was necessary to start the thread except to stir up an argument that had been put to rest on previous occasions. To state an opinion, theory or ask a question and have others constructively and RESPECTFULLY disagree, agree or voice their own opinion is healthy. For someone to state an opinion or theory and have others respond by insulting them, is worthless. To be bored or angry and start a thread for the sole purpose of starting a controversy is dead wrong. Communication through the internet often loses the original meaning of the writer, so it becomes important that you take the time to re-read what you write and ensure that your true intentions are being delivered. I will continue to read the threads from time to time but I think my days of posting here are done.

newflyer, I have posted a few times, but I try not to get too caught up in the antics sometimes portrayed.
Like I said ,this gets emotional from time to time. We all love our birds. As a 5 year Veteran LOL, I still feel Unworthy of trying to answer questions about how to raise , train or fly rollers. BUt I`m getting there. Some of that knowledge has come from lurking on this site. Quietly. It is the best site going Tony.
But I do also love my birds, even though they are not the best, I see the improvement each year and hope to lay down some good scores in the next year or two. How long have you been at this?
