Try taking the 1st egg away and replacing it with a dummy egg then 2 days later put the egg back under the hen.It could be the hen is sitting the 1st egg therfore the 1st egg hatching giving the squab a 2 day start on its nest mate. regards W@yne uk
Thanks for the advice wayne and Paul.I'll try this.I have done this in the past it's just been difficult to do lately with my work schedule.I keep my breeders in separate breeding pens and sometimes i just have time to make sure they have food and water.Not all the hatches show this problem , so some of my pairs might be incubating those 1st eggs more than others.
