just wondering what size do you prefer for your rollers, and why?

in my opinion, small, the size of a dove, because I don't have to feed as much.

Doesn't matter to me, as long as they aren't too big.

I don't like anything being described with the word "too". Too big; too small. Each has its problems. Medium birds....I guess would be what I like. I allowed my birds to get "too" small.....a little on the fragile side. The medium birds will give you that velocity in the spin and will be strong enough to hold it together on deep spins. The "too" little birds tend to get real sloopy at the end of a deep spin; they are not strong enough to keep it together.

I have seen very large birds who had the velocity(super chicken is what it is called at my friends loft...LOL). So, I am beginning to believe "too" small is more problematic than "too" big.......maybe.

I like small because of the hole feed thing but I do have some meds in my breeding pen that roll to good to say no.

I have only a few small birds left. They all went south on me for the most part. Toward the end of the second season they got really sloppy and loose, couldn`t hang in the kit. So I am regrouping toward a chunkier wedge shaped bird.

If they don`t kit,they don`t score.
Color don`t roll and peds don`t fly.
It`s a comp thing,understand?
