Stan When you got these birds from the penson stock what colors did you start with to make all these unusuall colors. Looks like you have been working yer butt off to breed these colors you deserve a medal for this transformation because i couldnt breed colors like that if tried .Why dont you not get those birds in the show ring im sure they would win many shows.(I dont mean to be offencive here also)I have never in my life seen colors like those birds. regards W@yne uk

Wayne, this bird is just a dilute version of the ones you posted with the heavy bronze in the shield patterns. This is a dilute blue bar expressing kite bronze which has turned yellow from the dilute factor.

Oh boy, I am even beginning to understand this color; I, I mean this genetic "thing". I am even starting to feel angry with Scott Campbell and Kenny Billings Hell, it took me all these years to understand the spin "thing" and that stock bird "look" "thing". But, in just a few days I am understanding this genetic "thing". In 40 years of marriage my wife has yet to figure out my "thing". What progress I have made. WOW! Hard to tell where it is all going to land(by the way, speaking of landing I am setting up private pilot lessons to learn that flying "thing" so my birds will have nothing on me).
Bronze Shield.......I have one of those, just like Wayne. Bronze Kite.............feels weird to say it. My tongue feels like it is tasteing my mother's devinity candy for the first time when I say it. It is the only thing she made that is better than my wife's. My mother was a terrible cook, but she had 5 sons who all got thier college education on athletic scholarships. Her food taste like crap, but it sure was healthy.....she was Scotish and that may be a reason(sorry Ally Mac, but it is the only way I can reason why it was so bad.)
What the hell am I doing? I am rambling like an......well, like Stan. Sorry guys, I am just numm from all of that color....ah I, I mean genetic "thing" that I have learned in the past few days. It is just staggering.
Bronze Kite.......wierd, ain't it? I may have to cull it(LOL).

Hi W@yne; I started with 5 Pair.in 1968.They were all from Jerry Sallingers Pensom line except one pair of red checks from a guy that imported them from Pensom himself. The Sallinger birds were all barred birds.Yellow barred hens -Red barred Cocks and a light lavender barred cock.I bred these birds till they all died of old age.I never had them out and didnt know what they did in the air.I bred the barred birds with the checks, and every thing went from there.I never bred them for color, they just came out that way.I dont believe in this crap about type or size. When a bird is spinning fast and dropping like a bullet, can you tell what size or type it is?When a bird is performing. The way its supposed to,it is the right type or size. The Mother of that Mosiac crested bird was huge. She was a solid red self. She was a fantastic spinner. That Mosiac crested hen breeds 40 ft young ones. That red hen is 12 years old now.Every year when I mate them up,I'm always thinking I should eliminate this bird ,because of her size but I cant. She was just too good in the air. These birds of mine are only about four generations away from the originals when I never get rid of the stock birds.I have to start keeping some younger birds now, about half my breeders are 8-13 years old. When you figure that I keep one generation for at least 10 years. Then replace it with another generation, and do the same with that,in almost 40 years they arn't far off the original birds. I figure 4 generations. The colors just came out,I guess throwbacks to who knows what they were originally bred from.I breed from 25 pair of normal birds and 15 pair of crests. STARFIRE
