Since my thread "occupations" went so well, I thought it might be interesting to see who did what as far as hobbies outside of raising, flying pigeons. Myself, I enjoy team-roping. My son and I rodeo together and work cattle for neighbors when time allows. Great for father son time. I have also fished bass tourneys for the past 10 years, again, father and son time, or wifey time, and enjoy training pointers. We also wakeboard "like water sking" and go on family trail rides with the horses... and... ride street bikes..Jerry ---------- Eat, sleep, Cowboys, Pigeons... The facts of life

Me and the wee fella (9 years old) race motocross bikes. Great days out together. I get as much fun from watching him, as I do racing myself. Luckily his mother doesnt come to watch!!!!!!!!!! Middle daughter has a bike too but she justs like to mess around on it.
Also been a member of the Oban lifeboat crew for nearly 19 years.

Jerry...great topic.
Anything radio control i'll fly it or drive it. I've been flying r/c planes for about 20 years and started flying Helis about 5 years ago.
But my main hobby is the dogs. My wife and I raise and field trial Vizslas. We've been doing that now for almost 8 years. I handle the dogs in the field trials and hunt tests, my wife shows them does the obedience and agility with them. We just recently returned from the Vizsla nationals where we won the Open Puppy Field trial stake. Not bad for our first trip to nationals.
With all the traveling to Iowa, Illinois, Michigan, Kentucky, Tenn., etc. for the trials and running the dogs 3-4 days a week...I doesnt leave much time for anything else.

Actually that one was from Lake Mission Viejo and weighed just over 15 lbs. I used to be hard core into tournaments, the highlight was winning Angler of the Year for the Central Coast region in 1997. I gave the tourneys up for time spent with the rollers which isn't so bad of a compromise...lol

Play a little blues music and listen to a lot of it. Fish on the lighter side of the hobby(one spinning rod/reel). Learning photography and I am going to make a million at it(photos that is). I am getting involved in outpatient surgery just on the weekends and some holidays(I am not as skilled at it as I once was). I suffer from ornithophilia as most of you know so I am limited to what I can actually do. I am in the process of setting myself; my wife and anyother sucker I can trick into it a supply business(my attorny daughter has already told me to go fly a kite)....did I tell you I have a bronze kite and I am flying it. I watch football because everybody thinks I should cause I played it for 10 years....so I do. I am thinking about writing a book, but I got writer's cramps from thinking about writing a book(I just can't think up enough shit to fill up a book). I am heavily endowed, but at 63 years old nobody cares;so being a porn star like BMC is out. I have started working out, but like most X jocks I just don't see any benefit to it - no score board and they don't put your name in the paper for it.

Brian,
You said you have a pet duck. I had one and they are D-U-M-B. They also live for a good while; longer than you want them to. But, the funny thing is if someone offered me one I would probably keep it. Part of that ornithophilia that I suffer from. It is not curable, you know. I think you got it, too...don't ya?

I enjoy helping my daughter with her FFA show animals, maine-anjou heifers and boer goats! She has two of her four walls pretty well covered in ribbons, banners, and plaques in 5 years! I help coach LL football for my sons league, also take him wrestling all over the state on Saturdays, all winter long! he is 11, started at 4. made it to the state comps 6 yrs in a row, placed in the top 5 twice! Other than that I enjoy bragging on my children and I lift weights 4-5 times a week. I have raised all kinds of birds over the years but nothing satisfies me like my rollers, Don't see that ever changing! I try to remember to thank God every day because he has made all this possible! Hobbies, My wife and I show mini-rex rabbits on a national level. Starting in Feb of 2007 we will have a hectic schedule. We will show around 60 plus shows next year.
With the help of people like Scott Campbell, Kenny Billings, Paul Fullerton, Angelo Nastov, Clay Hoyle and Wendell Spisak I will have a few kits of birds in the air this year. We have over 60 show chickens {Polish, cochins, and Silkies} We plan on attending 3 shows, {nationals or state}.
We have a little over 200 gamecocks. Plan on attending Louisiana 2 to 3 times in 2007.
If the job permits I like to hunt rabbits {with dog} and deer {No dogs} I hunt a couple days during season. This year didn't get a chance to get in the woods.
THANK!!! goodness no more horse shows. Since Jessica {wife} found out that she is allergic to horses and that is what kept her sick. We gave up the horse shows.
And what little time is left I spend it with my kids and their activities. Soccer, Ball etc. etc.
As you can see not much time for anything else. best of luck!!!! Have a safe and Happy Holiday!!!! Your good friend Brian Middaugh

I really don't have any serious interests other than pigeons, just don't have time for anything else. When I do have a little extra time, I love to fish, and secondly like to hunt, however haven't had time to hunt the last 19 years and look forward to it once retired from the military in about 1 year. Oh, almost forgot, I love to play pool and would like to play tournaments again when I retire. Enjoy going to my daughter's volleyball games, and working with my son on his baseball career. Billy has the tools to go all the way, everyone tells him so.
