This cock has produced high quality spin with depth in the 25-35 foot range for me since 98. A great bird. Joe

Great looking bird, I too have some very nice black pairs that throw great spinners and look nearly identical to this bird.

Heyyou, don't look at the color , study everything else , look at Waynes in the UK, Joe's ,Tony's , mine ,you will see that they are not that far off from each other,no good birds are no matter the loft or the country, these are Birmingham Rollers

Thanks Milo which old one. I lost the red bar in 96 but he still lives in my loft. 35s dad is the one I am really going to miss. I dont think he is going to be around much longer. Getting pretty weak on me the last couple years.

never had a bird hit off of him Scott. He is directly off the pair that I got from Paul Bradford. This photo was taken at Hendersons loft in 1995. Dave used him the last 2 years he was alive.

Heyyou, unfortunately I get about 60% self blacks in my loft but they do what I like in the air so I am not willing to add something to change them. Honestly though I really dont care what color they are I breed stricktly for spin and go by what I believe.I like a certain style of bird and that is one of the criterias that I use when considering a bird for stock. After all it is me and only me that has to look at them everyday at feeding time. But you will never hear me say that ALL I have are 25-30 footers because I am just not that old and can still see good enough to tell what is actually going on up there. LOL. Joe

Joe, the 04 #14 hen and the 05 #24 worked real well this past season. Several of their young are on lockdown until April. Most are Incredibly fast and snappy as youngbirds with depth about 15-25'at 6 months. Sometimes a bit deeper. I'm looking forward to flying them into fully matured birds in 2007.

I have lot's of color in my loft but the blacks that I have consistently throw good young. I have blues that do the same and some very nice reds that throw good birds but not with the same consistency of the blacks. I agree you pick from the air not from the look or color. if the blacks are doing better then I have to go with what is spinning the best. Thanks

Heyyou, I dont have alot of colors to choose from. I get what I get and will continue to work with them the way they are because they work for me. I look more at the body type, character and type of spin rather than the appearance. I am gathering from your post that you are doing the same and that is good to hear. Joe
