I have a hen with swollen leg and the band is putting too much pressure on it. How do I take the band off?

What kind of band?
Is it one of those plastic curl rings? Aluminum coated?
Find a way cut it off...the pain it will feel from it is nothing compared to what it will be if you leave it on...Good luck.

Using a wire cutter with a fine tip comes to mind. Perhaps putting the leg in cold water might help swelling go down and then try cutting band off.

Also remember that when you cut the band off and the leg swelling goes down...you can put the band back on......just for your records...or make a not on your records of the incident. I have put a band back on a couple times after having to cut one off...

Are you guys out of your mind? What if that bird was stolen and he just want to take the frigging band off? How do you know? Please don't help with this kind of info. Thanks.
