Guys, Help me out here. Two weeks ago I had a bird go light and die in the matter of a couple of days. I started them on 4n1 for a week. So far so good no more dead birds. The day after I took them off 4n1 we had a front move in with snow and ice. I gave the yogurt and vitamins to help them build back up. I noticed some droppings looked a little off. Figured they would straighten out after the pro`s got going. Wrong!
I got out the other morning and the box was a mess of snotty looking droppings. I got the hose and washed it all out pretty well. Opened the door to the aviary and let them out in the sunshine. Washed all of the dishes etc. Now there are more of the same nasty looking droppings. I added ACV to the water this morning to see what would happen. I saw a bulletin about avoiding small seeds and feed more protein. Got plenty of pellets just scared of exacerbating the situation. Any suggetions? thanks ---------- If they don`t kit, they don`t score. Color don`t roll and peds don`t fly. It`s a comp thing, understand?

Hey Velo, did you notice a foul odor from the droppings? Any bubbles? Was it pulpy and green? Sticky and yellowish/green? Young birds or old birds dead? Copy and paste this to your browser. Maybe it will help. http://www.jedds.com/DiseasesChooseASymptom.asp
Good luck, Russ

Three year old bird, He was in another building. This started when the weather got bad and it snowed. Inside of the box was damp amd cold for 2 days.I thought it was just frozen droppings thawing out at first. ---------- If they don`t kit, they don`t score. Color don`t roll and peds don`t fly. It`s a comp thing, understand?

Velo99 As i precautionary measure i would put them straight on baytril. If i see a dodgy looking pigeon in my loft rather than wait for the bird or birds to deterioate i put them or that bird on baytril and in a couple of days see a big diffrence,Baytril is a broad spectrim treatment that treats a lots of diffrent problems with pigeons. But if its a virus you need to look at diffrent option ,I am no vets but this is ny opinion. regards W@yne uk

Kenny, don't feed the pellets , that will just compound the problem by more water intake , whenever cold and moisture sets in no more pellets for me.
