The breeder of this bird told me this is a "once in a lifetime bird". I have her mated to a very rare pure Smith. Now, if I am at least a decent manager I will be able to produce something in a couple of years, huh?
Wierd ain't it.

Nick, I like the way the bird holds itself. Let me know how the fry do when you start flying them.

Nick what is a once in a lifetime bird?...lol My personal experience is the birds you least expected to be great are the best raised. Not to say a good planned breeding won't prduce good birds tho. That bird looks wonderful! Good luck with it.

Nice little hen Nick. Since you commented about Smith, did you know that Black Elvis is pure Smith?

Hector,
Nice bird, very nice. Need to keep sake the photos. I wonder how many pure Smiths still out there? I may be looking for a Smith hen to do a couple of rounds with to preserve the Smith line.

BR,
The long time breeder basically said the bird was an almost perfect performer (I flew her for about 10 days and she was as close to being the best I have ever seen). He also stated that her off spring hit about 85 to 90% of the time no matter which cock he had with her. He told me it is a "once in a life time bird; take real good care of her". It wasn't me saying she is a once in a life time bird.........I haven't had one of those, yet.

Kevin,
I wonder if he would be willing to loan me a hen? The Smith cock I have is kinda large. I would like a medium to smallish hen, if he could do that.......
Thanks,

I no longer trust some breeders who mark thier petigrees with comments like "once in a lifetime" or the "best I have ever seen". Easy thing to do or say; hard to prove.
I knew when I was talking to this man he was full of stuff that I wouldn't put in my hand and don't want on my shoes. I am honest and I make a mistake thinking everybody else is, as well. I am 65 years old and I am still learning that there are those who just want to make the sell and integrity and honesty has nothing to do with any of it. ---------- Just My Take On Things

The Louisiana birds are coming along very well. Should have some flying in next year's World Cup. I am not flying any right now; I don't want to lose any.
Aubrey Thibodeaux is somebody I should have gotten to know a long time ago. Very generous and very honest. A good man. He is coming to the NBRC Convention this year, so it will be good to see him again. ---------- Just My Take On Things
