How do you breed a blue lace? What do you need?

Dave, it the result of the reduced gene x spread gene x blue T-pattern. In other words, a reduced black self masking the T-pattern marking. Reduced is and works just like dilute.

BMC, Can you give me an example of the color of birds I would need to breed for one. I'm no expert in these different genes but if you give me a color I might be able to grasp it, I think, lol.

To breed one in the first mating, you would need a cock homozygous for reduced, meaning he is expressing the reduced gene, such as the bird posted above. All hens from him will be reduced, regardless of what color he is mated to. To make such an expression as seen above in the first mating, you would mate a bird like the cock above to preferably a black self hen. Reduced is just like dilute, it is sex-linked. The same principals apply.

Stan , pretty doubtful that you will find andulasion in from the Barret imports unless crossed , andulasion came from Homer crosses.

Hey Scott: If you open the dark ones wings, its the same color in the secondaries,as its sister. There are no birds other than Barrets in the Toronto area.only Pensom. All the TFRC boys fly Barrets.I don't know what else to call it.Its a odd color.mixed and variagated.Maybe its not an andulasion.I'm Going to breed them togeher and see what I get just for fun.I also noticed that whenever anybody posts pictures I have one almost like it in my loft.Ill have to post my pepperheads, and black selfs.Do your blacks breed duns?
