I am wondering specifically about the Central Missouri area. This is my first year and raised about fifty birds from 7 cocks and 11 hens I got from a good source. They are a good strain, but they were never flown since I didn't want to risk losing them. I flew them every day, until Dec 1, but just as they were coming into the roll (most were hatched in July and August due to a late start)I had to lock down due to hawks. I would like to get them flying again, pick out the best cock birds, and pair them with the extra original hens. This may not be possible since I would like to start breeding in February. I recorded the band numbers of the birds that were showing potential, but I would like some more fly time before I make them breeders. Any help would be appreciated.

JB the best advise I could give is to put a small kit up and test the air for a few days. One day will not tell the truth but you may be able to get them back out if your preditors have moved on but I doubt it. Usually around mid Feb for me here in Northern CA. Joe
