I am told my birds perform the roll with good quality and depth and they are frequent too, but my problem is they come only in Ash Red Series and Blue Series colors.
Would I be hurting the roll if I crossed in lets say a Modena cuz I really like em' alot, and then breed them pure to my Ruby Rollers for 8 generations to clean up the Modena genes so my birds will roll again?
Abby please respond quickly because the new breeding season is starting and I don't want to be the only one without a date, er, I mean unusual color rollers in my loft.
Thanks Dear Abby! ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

Tony you're a real nut. LOL All I can say is go back to the lock down thread and read Tapp's post to you. He is a good friend of mine and he was dead serious but I about fell off my chair with laughter when I read it....it brought back some hillarious memories for me (a little inside joke). My sides are still sore from laughter. Keep on stirring Tony, it's not soup yet.LOL

ruby rollers getting mixed is this the sign of the apocalypse? tony might lose customers because the birds he breed ain't pure might I suggest do not mix all of them because I might buy some my friend so don't go mixing modenas with all unless if you want your business to fall

Your asking the wrong person Smokey , I wouldn't allow such a bird into the loft. But here is what I would do if one strayed in , take the bluelace , ring it's neck , and then nail the carcass to your loft door to ward off others, hope this helps.

here's a little poem...
Ruby Rollers near perfection with some years & dedication Now my birds in need of flavor so my customers can savor all the colors that they need but then i may plant the seed that may lead to my demise... So i think it would be wise to leave well enough alone!
Hey do they have an Oscar for us poets??????

who needs color and pretty lace,
when all we need is spin.
who needs feathers out of place, on birds that cannot win.
rollers aint for show an shine,
and color wont help `em fly,
I`ll `em pure in this loft of mine
so, Tony, please tell us why.
Why add a bird thats meant for show
to get color you dont need.
pure Birminghams the way to go,
dont mongrelize the breed!

Here it is
Tony was a man of enterprise. He ran his loft of birds with pride. Tony said to all of his friends "These are the finest birds in the land. For a really nominal fee I`ll sell you one two or three. These rollers three,a family could be. Keep raising them and be like me,a man who likes his birds to fly free.
My birds have a special skill,a skill so rare the people would stop and stare. If they only knew that up in the blue, these birds did tricks of a spectacluar hue. For up in the sky right before your eye, my birds will spin and spin and spin again. They rolled in twos threes and fours. Most of the time there are a whole lot more.
They roll to the trees, they roll with the geese, they rolled with the robin after he said please. They rolled in the morning after it was light, sometimes they rolled til midnight. They rolled and rolled till their wings were tired then went down to their home far below. Safe in the winter from the sleet and snow.
They knew Tony loved them and wished for thier best. The birds in his loft that had passed the test were better than others.Oh my and oh yes. So Tony sold a few here, and a few more there, building his business out of the air.
When one morning he awoke with the color bird flu. No one knew just WHAT to do " Tony`s gone crazy!!" was the hue,and the cry "Just what is wrong with that guy!" The flu was the only thing we could think that would make him add a Modena, eww stink! Pouter or Westy no matter the srain his rollers no longer would be the same. They now would be mongrels, eaters of poo,the roll would be gone,it just can`t be true. When Tony awoke from his afternoon nap.He awoke with a start, his eyes opened with a snap. He rushed thru the door his heart was a-pounding. The walk to the loft,it looked like a mountain. He ran up the walk and looked inside and there wasn`t a Modena in sight.
He sighed in relief as he walked back inside, his hands were trembling. He said "Oh my". He thought for a minute that it had been true. That he had raised mongrels, eaters of poo. ---------- If they don`t kit, they don`t score. Color don`t roll and peds don`t fly. It`s a comp thing, understand?
