That is why I have a lock on my loft and kit boxes as well as my dog. My neighbors watch each others house like a hawk. We have a Sherrif and a Woodland P.D. officer that live at the enterance to my street. Most of the folks on my street are retired and spend most of the day at home...they know everything that happens on my street...LOL..

Plus being an avid hunter.....I have a wide variety of fire arms...so I have NO WORRIES..LOL

pigeon thefts was something that we used to have happen occasionally when i was a youngster back in the 70;s its beyond me that grown men are driven to go out into the night and steal another mans birds just because they are to damn lazy to put in the time and breed there own birds.i am just getting a few numbers into the air so i havent attracted attention yet but the guy i got my birds from has been robbed a few times.so it happens in australia to i will be buying some locks shortly.

This will be the last time, im rebuilding the doors tommorrow i have use lockers in the past but seems like if they are kinda small or regular size its nothing to the theifs im trying to get the bigest lockers possible they also tend to peal the roof top even though it is triple layers with nails longer than your fingers these theifs seems pretty good at this im ready next time though

A nice high tech camera with recordable video is better than any lock!!Just put a little sign in your loft area that says...."Say cheese".

ps:Some folks go as far as installing alarms on their loft doors.Money well spent!!

I am certainly glad I dont live in an area like that. Someone that will stoop to that is wasting good oxygen and taking up good space. Sorry for your loss Chor.

My dogs bite and my guns are loaded. In Florida we are now allowed to shoot.

keep em flying

Chor,
it is most likely that the thieves are the ones that have been to your house. Thieves are everywhere (even in here) so just be careful. If you sell and let people come to your house than sooner or later you will get birds stolen.

Man, you guys have it really bad out there in California, chor! These kinds of posts are getting far too frequent. A guy from California just visited us here in Carolina to see some of our kits fly; Danny Horner, Joe Bob, Clay, Jay and myself. He told us his story of having just been ripped off of all his birds. The thief actually cut his fence, lured his guard dog out, and when it was gone, relieved him of his birds. We have had a few guys relieved of some birds down here, but not like you guys are dealing with. I feel for ya, man!
YITS,
Cliff

That guy was my nephew. He said you guys have some real nice birds there. Maybe one day I'll make it out there.

These thiefs over here are like pros, my house has two 6 feet tall gates until you can get to my back yard and they got the guts to come and climb over all that shit and take them and back then at one of my other house i had like seven lockers around my door holding everything henge and every corner but it was nothing for the thiefs, like somebody said earlier lockers don't really help but it is beter than nothing, my loft also have been riped from the top alot of times, cutting through the small chicken wires, they also seem to also carry a bow cutter, my chains and locks are the size of my pinky and bigger but its still not enough they will always find what ever way to get to the birds, unless you sleep in your loft with a loaded shot gun i guess, i mean these fu**** are good, hope you guys lock your lofts and kit better than i do

Drop a little coin down at Best Buy. They have some pretty cool video cameras with recorders. Install a motion detection light and you are in business. It is money well spent, trust me. Nice to go to bed at night knowing everything that happens out there is being recorded.

Oh, and forgot to mention, most of them will record digitally, so you can post the video of the culprits in action on YouTube.com for the whole world to see....lol.

Here is a better tip to catching them red handed. I've been ripped off a few times here in Minnesota. Go to Menards and look at where they sell motion dector flood lights. There you will find some drive way alarms. I bought two at 30 bucks each best thing that I ever did. Saved my birds a couple of times.

My next step is a camera. Remember when buying the more led lights the farther and better it will see in the dark.

Chor, I'm sorry for your loss. Theves are big in the sacramento area, I suggest more lights at the back, they don't tend to steal things when you can see them you know what I mean?
