Hey Steve, I am a Drill Instructor in the Marine Corps, That one picture of your girl, dog, bird, and Marines on the tube is moto, oohraa. Looks like my house. Yeah, I stuffed a few with wet peas and took the fat squab out for a tiny to get fed first a few times. I believe in nature too, but the sapp in me always has hope that says" This could be the one!" I do have one cock that I was just going to take from the loft 'cause he was just straight ugly and his feathers looked greasy, just plain unnaturally uggglly. Glad he made it now though cause he is a top percher and pretty good spinner. Not the best but nice to watch none the less with good type on the perch. You never know :)

I haven't did that in awhile, but there are some rewards with it. They become devoted to you. One of my breeder hens will follow me clear across the road. She will walk with me as long as she can keep up and take to the air to catch up. She is also a good producer.

Nick,
I have had squeaks do that when I take em across the fence or down the block for the first time. Kinda neat them flying along about eight feet in the air right behind you.

Ste
That bird is the tamest bird i have ever seen it will fly round the garden from your hand down to his house. Its part of Ste`s family now Lol.It earns its keep also by Ste using it for a dropper for his kits but i really have never seen a pigeon like it imagine a parrot so tame Norris is just that.It sure turned out to be a nice looking bird also.
Great patience you had there Ste.

Steve, we might all learn a thing or two from what you did there. I'm sure there are plenty who would be prepared to go the extra mile for a bird they didn't want to lose. From the pictures, the bird was very young when you began hand feeding. Can you tell us what type of food preparations you used at the various stages and when you changed from what to what. Or, are you going to tell us you fed nowt but peas!

Cheers.

Steve,

Great shot of your niece, and Marine's in the back ground. I see a spot on 20/20 or 60 minutes for this.

If you get a chance shoot me a e- mail,

Kel Steve has took a few round of young from Norris as it was a valuble pigeon bred from his best stock.
Good ole Norris has become a daddy and still a very important part of the family lol.
