Cliff, I like that trap next to your loft (lol). That is nice loft and setup. What's missing is the wood trim around the door and windows painted with an offset color to the loft and some nice hedges or bushes around the loft. I like the way you have it layed out. Where is you kit boxe? Are they separate from the loft or built in? Just wondering. Thanks.

I was going to say it looks tall or your daughter looks short. I am going to start building new kit boxes it will only be 7' tall in the highest spot (I am only 5'6") it will have 4 boxes in it, each box will be 3' deep 4' wide 4' high in the front and 3' high in the back and it will have a 2' wide ally down the mid.

Well, Jimbo, I didn't have room for individual breeding pens, and I like floor litter in the stock loft. I never lose young squeakers in the winter, that way, and I like the dry probiotic environment for them. So a lot of ventilation is necessary... Cliff

There is definitely a problem with the quadrant arrangement of the kitboxes. If a bird that is developing control, rolls when landing, he is going to hit a roof.....he can't miss. A linear arrangement would have been better! So now I am forced to breed for control...or else build one of BMC's trampolines! LOL! And i don't like the stand alone kitboxes as opposed to walk-ins, because you cannot observe your birds! Again, I think Brian's design is much more ideal. It's one of those things where every year I built another kit box instead of planning ahead!! LOL! Anybody need some good stand-alone kitboxs? LOL! YITS, Cliff

Brian, Thanks, Brian. Actually, not a lot of time or forethought...just needed more room, and threw it together. If I had spent the time and forethought, I'd have built something more like yours!! LOL!
There are definitely trees behind the breeder loft, but that was intentional; we can use the shade, here in Carolina. The photo of the kitboxes foreshortens the tree line on the other side. There is about seventy-five to a hunred yards of horse pasture between the tree line and the kit boxes, so it is not too bad. The kit boxes are about 50 yards out in the pasture from the breeding loft, so it works better in reality, for protecting my birds. Most preds do come from behind the stock loft, though, of course! Hi there Cliff, Your stock loft I like alot.I know what you mean about all the separate kitboxes tho'.One day I'd like to build my stock loft and kitboxes all together in one structure.Much easier to maintain and to see your birds as well.Your daughter looks like a sweety.Ours all came out rough n tumble boys.---------- Kelly

I have stand alone kit boxes and have contimplated moving the hole operation under one roof and I may do it eventually. Right now I just can't convince myself to cut holes in the side of a new 22 X 22 out building that looks like a small home. After a few more times standing in the rain feeding my kit birds I may change my mind(LOL).
I would like to be able to play around with all of my birds under one roof.....we will see.
Nick
P.S. I don't see very many of those color birds; what did you do with'em...............just kidding, Cliff.
Again, very nice set up. ---------- Snicker Rollers

Sorry to take so long on these dimensions, guys. The loft is 14 feet wide (viewed from the front) and 12 ft. deep. It is divided in half length-wise with the back 6ft.x 14ft. section as the breeding section. In the front half, on each side of the door (which enters into a 4 ft. "foyer") is a 5 ft. wide by 6 ft. deep holding pen; cocks on the right, hens on the left. It's pretty much just the bare minimums for my purposes at the present. Thanks, again, for all the positive comments group. YITS, Cliff

Nice loft Cliff, its always good to see that we as pigeon fanciers take pigeon housing as important as the birds we fly.
I have seen my share of things people call a loft and I sure am happy to see a nice loft.
