Hi to all, my question is as follows. I have 3 pairs of rollers I'm breeding from and they seem to have watery droppings. They all seem healthy and active to these date. They have all raised 3 pairs of squeakers and they also look healthy. I feed my breeders 15 percent pigeon mix I also give them red grit and for there drinking water, I alternate Raw Organic Apple Cider Vinegar with Vitamins & Electrolytes. My concern is what can be causing them to have watery poop. I would greatly appreciate any remedies or advice. Your friend in the hobby Raul.

They may be drinking a lot and just needed to take a leak. Is the color normal or is it on the green side? Watery dropping are pretty normal in the real young. ---------- Snicker Rollers

My breeders are about one year old and there droppings are clear in color. They seem very active in raising there young. I have two holding pens next to my breeding section, were I have more of my rollers and there droppings are normal. The only separation between my breeders and other rollers are chicken wire. I'm just worried for my breeders situation. Need your advice on how to handle this situation. Thanks.

Yeah, those BE birds love the water! They even play in the water all day whether they are thirsty or not. Especially the web footed ones ...lol

Raul, If you have a pop bottle type of drinker, moniter their water consumption.I think that you will find what, Nick and Brian said is correct. If their is a fowl odor and a slimy green color, that's bacterial ,and something to worry about...Aloha,Todd P.S.I'd ease up on the ACV and the vita mins, etc.,it may be a contributer to them gorging water.

Raul,
It is normal for the breeders when they are rearing youngsters to have watery droppings. If you notice when the cock rearing young birds, he feeds profusely all day long to feed the young. He also drinks water after every time he eats to make the regurgitating easier and transfer the feed to the young. Therefore, their droppings will always be watery and soft. And if you feed Pellets, the dropping will be softer and smellier.

Thanks J.Star for that info I feel more at ease knowing that this happens frequently with breeders. I would like to know your thoughts on any remedies to relieve the breeders from this situation, if any at all. Thanks
