Hey Lee,
When I was a kid last century, I used it as directed by the old men in the club. They told me that the brewers yeast tablets would help with the gut and the cod liver oil aided in conditioning i.e. feathers.
Don't know if these are correct but, as a teen I knew I'd better listen to those that had birds years longer than I was old :)

Hi Lee, here is an article published in the march/april NBRC publication that stated:
Pigeon fliers that race pigeons are always willing to talk about the health of their pigeons. They spend lots of money for their pigeons and want them to perform well in all races. There is one item that is low cost and will provide almost everything a pigeon needs- Brewers Yeast.
Brewers Yeast contains: Vitamins: Choline,Vitamin E,Niacin,Riboflavin,Pyridoxine,Biotin,Floic Acid,Pantothenic Acid, and Thiamine. Amino Acids Arginine,Cystine,Histidine,Isoleucine,Lysine,Methionine,Phenylalanine,Theronine,Valine,Thyptophane. Minerals: Calcium,Phosphorus,Selenium,Sodium,Magnesium,Potassium,Iron,Copper,Zinc,Iodine, and Cobalt.
Give it to your pigeons once or twice a week on the feed and your pigeons will have most of the vitamins, amino acids, and minerals they need. Brewers Yeast also contains about 35% crude protein. Jerry ---------- Eat, sleep, Cowboys, Pigeons... The facts of life
