Can anyone give me any information about the Walter Harter Strain of Birmingham Rollers? And is anyone working with the same? I know they all generated from a foundation Jerry Higging Hen bred with other strains of cocks. I'm cultivating a FAMILY of birds from original breeders sent here to Hawaii in the 1960's.

I knew Walt Harter back a long time ago, in the 80's, and
he seemed to have many birds that he would pick up from his travels coming south to Florida every winter.
So he would have some acquired from the breeders up north and others from the locals here in the south east. I did know also that he liked the Rollers that were on the small side. Sometimes there is a few birds found that has
his name, but I realy don't take much stock in them for
having something many generations removed. To my knowledge he never did compete nationally and we considered him just
a nice big fellow that had fun flying his birds and talking one's ears off. Find yourself a few small Rollers
with one or two with that has a lot of spin, then you will have what Walt Harter had in his loft.

Thank you for that info. Yea Walt Harter seemed like a really talk heavy kind of guy. I talked to him once on the phone before he passed (1995 or 96?).

Thanks once again & anymore info will be helpful.
