---------- A while back i recieved 20 birds from Neville Eccles and his genourous friends. I never thought people would actaully GIVE rollers away. I was quite surprised and thankful . I had them locked up 4 2 months. Then decided to fly one with my other 6 birds. So i did and He WAS AMAZING! Makes my old ones look like Absolutely NOTHING haha. I continued flying him and he was real good. At first he would always sit on the trees were the hawks were, i was quite scared. He eventually learned to trap. The problem is i flew him again, except the wrong one. He flew higher and higher did nice flips and all but then disappeared, never did come back. Now we have So many hawks around its SICK. I have never witnessed any of my birds getting caught i have been lucky. THey always come out of nowhere. well anyway i have 19 birds none are breeding i have many pairs but they arent breeding. one day it was real nice outside and most bread. NONE laid eggs though=( im too scared to fly them so i keep them locked up. This is a random post and i apologize but i was just eager to share how my birds are hahah any advise or comments would be appreciated thanx

The hawk thing is what will have you biting into your pillow at night. If you can bear the inevitable losses which are as guaranteed as night follows day (given how many hawks you have nearby), then you may be OK. But, keeping your birds locked up isn't the best sign that you're ready!
But, 19 birds and no eggs? Unless they're all very young or all cocks, you should have seen eggs by now. If your birds have reached breeding age and are of mixed sex and healthy, you should have difficulty stopping them breeding. Something's wrong.

Hey there Andreas, You got some birds from Neville Eh!!!That's great!!!I knew he would help you out.Ya for sure he's got the real thing, and any buddies of his probably all gave you Monty Neible bloodline birds or John Weins or possibly some Barretts. He's a super generous guy,he loaded us up with T-bones from the farm and whitetail deer meat when I went to visit him a few months ago. Are those 06 birds you got?If so the hens may not be ready to breed just yet if they were from a late hatch.Nevertheless, put some lights on in your breeder loft(I've got mine on from 6am till 9pm and my birds are all breeding)and that should jack them up to breed. Now you need to try and keep records on which birds are breeding together and keep track of how their young are doing when you get to start flying them in the springtime. The hawks are wicked where I am now and won't F off till later in march.I know where you are too there are a ton of preds so you're gonna have to breed like stink and don't fly your birds if there's so many hawks around.Just wait till you start flying 20 birds at once and see how many predators you attract!!!You think you're pissed now.Hah!!! April till October your losses to hawks and henerys will be less(hopefully).Good Luck and have fun with your birds. ---------- Kelly PS How come you're not in school Dude??Hmm,I know.Pigeons on your mind.Caught ya!!!
