This is a mount that fellow rollerman Don Penny mounted for me. I just picked it up the other day.

Old Don.......hell I thought he was getting too old to do this kind of work(LOL).
He did a damn good job on this!
He was the first roller man I met when I moved into Yuba City.....I really like the old fart, don't you? He has a funny way of competing don't he?

Nick I was pretty surprised when he told me he could do it but I have since see quite a few mounts he did. He has a Bald Eagle that he did for the Department of Fish and Game and from what I am told he was once considered one of the best in the state. He is pretty talented. ---------- J.M.Urbon Lofts A Proven Family of Spinners http://www.freewebs.com/jmurbonlofts/

Yes nick Don has an interesting way of preparing for a fly. He calls it any twenty pennys. He is really a neat guy though and I for one will miss him greatly when that time come but till then I will charrish him. Scott, I only have two still out in my shop. Most guys come and get them soon as there done I have a whitetail thats done and a carbiou that I just mounted 3 days ago that still on the stand drying. I'll have him finished in about two more weeks.I'm mounting a 10 point tonight! Got about 10 more whitetail to do.I used do do waterfoul but quit. Its a federal licence and to much paper work!I still do all now except waterfoul.I used to advertize but haven't in past three years and still get more than I like to do. Lots of fish and small game. The pike I caught 43in. 20lb and the walleye my wife caught 7lbs.The ten point on the green wall I shot in 1980 ---

JMUrbon, nice woody mount! Thank's Brian and Kelly for the kind words! Taxidermy is a tedious job. Fish are the hardest to do. There's no margin for error! My wife caught a 5 1/2 lb large mouth bass in Sept 04 I'll have to mount it for her, and send you all a pic, You know it's like when your a mechanic and ya drive a car that needs lots of work done to it. Just never seem to get to it! Take care all. Tapp

Thanks Tapp. Those are some awsome mounts. Don says he sticks to waterfowl now because at his age they are just easier on him. He is close to 80 years young. Joe ---------- J.M.Urbon Lofts A Proven Family of Spinners http://www.freewebs.com/jmurbonlofts/
