One of my pumper hens laid her second round of eggs only 7 days after I took her 1st round and put them under the fosters.I'm concerned she'll hurt her insides producing eggs so fast.Another pair of fosters are ready to take her 2nd round, then 3rd round I'm gonna let her set her own eggs.Should I let her set on this 2nd round a number of days before taking the eggs away to put under the fosters,or just keep going letting her pump the eggs out?I'd appreciate any input on this subject. YITS, Kel.

Gracias Milo.Makes me feel like a crumb tho'.Ya know that look they give ya when you take their eggs away, and such a tame pair too. They're like buddies and then I go and steal their eggs.Culling is easier. The relationship ends right there. K

Kel, I feed mine to the dog. She sure loves breeding season.
---------- If they don`t kit,they don`t score. Color don`t roll and peds don`t fly. It`s a comp thing,understand?

Kel, I wouldn't let them set them for any time being it is the second round. I am like you though in that I like to let the primary pair raise evry third round themselves. I have used wooden eggs before to let the primary set a few days before putting them back into laying cycle if either looks even a bit wore out from the process. Not on second round though if fosters are ready for them. Lood luck amigo. Truly, Jim
