Has anyone used the Fertility Tablets for an old sterile cock and had it actually work? Thanks for any responses!

Vitamin B12, trim vents and give them LOTS of sunshine and warmth. Pigeon testes shrink to one-quarter their size when it is cold.

So do mine(LOL).

Brian - I was not aware of that, but to think about it the pairing's reproduction usually start of slow then pick up later in the year. I never took the time to understand it could be weather related. I just assumed it was a getting re-aquainted time. Moving to Arkansas it really has been slow.....it is much colder here than California.

Trim the vents.......both hen and cock? Never thought about that either.

You need to put together a book or two.

Nick, I recently learned about the teste thing, but it goes right along with annual experience. My birds always kick it in full gear around April/May when the days are longer and the weather is warmer. During the winter it is rather hit and miss, plus the cool weather tends to make the birds a bit lathargic too.
Trimming the vents is something we have done for a long time. Usually some birds have excessive feathering around the vents. Trim mostly on the top side of the hen's vent and mostly on the bottom side of the cock's vent. Clearing the area really good (a small pair of scissors works really good) increases the chance for the connection between the two birds. Often older birds aren't as agile as they once were and as we know, the mating act is pretty much a balancing act for the cock bird. Trimming off the tail often helps quite a bit too as it removes yet one more interfering obstacle from the equasion.

Whats up with this!
I was watching a pair last night. He was going thru the whole ritual of courting completed by a tread. When he was done,he squatted for the hen She kinda half heartedly mounted him for a second. It was like she wasn`t sure of what she was doing. Are they just kinky?

If they don`t kit,they don`t score.
Color don`t roll and peds don`t fly.
It`s a comp thing,understand?
