In my experience it is a bad idea. Just too close. I have seen birds come out all messed up (eyes are all wrong, legs, .....). But again you never know until you don’t try it. So your call. Good luck. Later Norm

Luis I did this once and the results were great.Offspring were great in character ,type, expression and they bred true in all the qualities. Ones that would concur would be Arnold Jackson--Steve Smith--JU JU Heard. The reason I did this was for the only reason the birds were getting of age, so I put them together to preserve the line. They were NORWOODS line--off of 544/1344(old man by the sea stuff, with plumber).I still use this line today.

Do you have a reason for doing this, or is it just an experiment?

I have bred Bro/Sis on 2 different pairs. Out of the 2 pair, I raised a total of 9 young. Out of those 9, 3 are what I would call A team quality. The others were good birds, but lacked the quality that the mother/son and father/daughter pairing had.
I will no longer be breeding from Bro/Sis matings.

Roller man - I have done this many times due to the fact that these were the two best birds to go together based on performance, type, expression and soundness and I have had great success. My best pair from Bruce Cooper was full brother and sister. Now, the key is that the youngsters are sound. If they are weak in body etc break it up but if not it is a go for me.

DR. LD I don’t see anything wrong in that type of breeding as long as you’re doing it for a reason. Such as consolidating the gene pool of the original pair, or persevering an established line. It’s not something I would do just on the basis that they are related.

Rollerman - You are correct. This pair was put together because they were the best two birds that I had from Bruce and it was a gold mine. My loft is full of the blood from this pair. I mate best to best regardless of relationship as long as they are sound and the young are sound.
