Hey Guys this little cock is a very fast one and the producer of the same. He is a brother to my foundation hen "The Bib. His wing shield on the other side is spangled marked. Ken Easley loved this guy when he was out here a year ago. A good presentation of strength and style.

Here is another good example of a classic breeder at my loft. This cock has produced many good birds that several local guys have founded thier loft upon.

Very nice. Is the second cock bird a spread ash red (mahogany rather than lavender) tick (carrying blue)? Thanks.

Last One for now. This cock is a stemwinder if thier ever was one in the air and the producer of the same. I have stocked several out of him over the last 5 years and they have produced some good ones as well. So the blood is definitely thier for roll.

I Lied, Here's one more for your viewing pleasure. He's a deep one about 40 ft and most guys think 60 ft but I like to think on the consevative side of things. Vaporizing speed and a pleasure to watch in the air. Ivan

Ivan, That explains one of the surprises I have gotten over the last couple of years. I have 2 cocks that are similar to that one,one just has a touch more red. I was expecting red cks not blacks and darks. lol I do have a white chick thats gonna look like that mottle of BMC`s . It came out of a bald blu spd hen and a red ck tick cock. Theres a griz in the woodpile somewhere.

If the ash red cock carries the dominant spread gene as this one does -whether colored lavender or mahogany colored, or anything in between - and is ticked (carrying blue), if mated to a blue hen, those offspring that do inherit the blue gene from both parents, plus if they also inherit the spread gene, will be black. Grizzle is also a dominant gene, thus should be impossible to inherit unless one parent shows it.
