Hey all, I never would have believed how stress relieving scraping pigeon poo could be. Work related stress sent me into the loft for a little theraputic scraping. You would be surprised how much you can accomplish when you are stressed. I not recommending picking a fight, but if one looms, SCRAP CRAP!! You feel better and the birds will also!

Fun happens when you least expect it.

Hey Oldfart,
It's a whole process man.You mix the feed, feed the birds, watch 'em fly, breed 'em,scrape shit.Hah!!But then it goes on the compost heap for 4 months then onto the garden where it fertizes a myriad of variety of foods.Next when you cook and eat the foods try that out for stress relief.Hard to beleive,eh!?

Thom , you are right, in fact most of yesterday afternoon was devoted to it.
A while back I was scraping with my 3 year old grand daughter at my side.
She said "papa , I want to help" I told her that when she gets bigger she can scrape poo til the cows come home, but she had to promise to leave me a little , she said "I promise papa " LOL

Poo for me and poo for you,:-0.
Scraping pigeon poo is part of the experience, solitude however is what it is truly about. For me, when life closes'in I seek solice and comfort in the loft. The constant sounds and smells of young and old interacting reconstitute memories of my youth. Dreams and asperations I still quest for, the perfect kit, the World Cup! Who am I kidding, just the local 11 bird fly trips my trigger! The hardest core compitition flyer, or your average dreamer.(Backyarder) (Me) all share them same experience, sights and sounds of young and old. Dreams! By scraping, I guess I mean dreaming.

Scraping the poop is the one part of maintanence i hate most! One day a week is devoted to this task wich i dread with a passion.I would much rather spend it flying them than with a mask on my face and pigeon dust in my hair!Coops look good when its all done though!!

Good Lord Brian,i hope that's a joke!! 15 lofts and 8 kit boxes!!At that rate i think your birds are probably top notch! With that many lofts you can breed the hell out of um and get to the goods much faster than most.Don't envy your poop cleaning chores though!

Chewy...um, yah, like that man!...lol

Luis, no joke. I raise show pigeons as well. I actually have more show birds than rollers. During the height of my breeding years I would have over 500 pigeons in the summer at the close of breeding for both the show birds and rollers. I don't raise as many of either any more, just over 100 of each each year. With the show birds we require conditioning lofts. Usually run four lofts for cocks and three for hens with stock hens taking up two after breeding and stock cocks taking up at least two. Then there are two roller cock break up lofts and one roller hen break up loft. Then there is...well...you get the drift...lol.
The kit boxes are easy, they have trays and I have a son who needs money every weekend..lol
