Hey very nice looking bird. umm quick question, is Dennis Hayes related to Richard Hayes? If so do their birds have similiar backgrounds too? Just curious.

I like the eye of the bird Ivan posted but was wondering what you guys think of the droopy wings?
I'm ok if the bird holds it's wings like that after flying for a bit, but not when it has been in the breeding loft or any other time not immediately after flying.
Wondering what others think?

I hate droopy wings. On this guy though, I think it is just how he was holding it at the time of the pic. Doesn't strike me as a droop wing bird. If I get one, I will never breed from it, no matter how good it is.

Jay, Yes Rich Hayes and Dennis Hayes are brothers. Rich resides in flat head Montana and Dennis lives in Black lake Idaho both fly in the rocky mtn region one of the toughest regions in the nation. Firl the bird doesn't naturally have a droop wing if you look closely you will see some of the feathers on his wing shield that is out of place by handling him. I think Dennis at the time of this photo had just caught him and threw him into a show cage thus the wing wasn't in the right position for posing LOL! Here is a photo of the great Bill Schrieber stock cock who bred many a good one.

Ivan, That Dennis Hayes cock looks the same type as some of your stock birds that you posted and Szabatura's Eagle cock, only a different color, and maybe a little longer in the neck. I'd like to see a better view of his head, though, but he's got the ol' rooster eye thing goin', for sure! Nice bird!
Milo, You said, "I will never breed from it, no matter how good it is." To each his own, I guess, but if I had a bird like this and he, otherwise, had the total package for performance in the air, type, and production, personally, I do believe that droopy wings is one fault that I could overlook! YITS, Cliff

Gregg, Dennis Hayes has some really nice birds as you can attest in visiting his web page. The majority of his birds are down from the #923 Higgins cock bird which goes back to the Houghton strain 5071 and 199 stuff. Good to have you onboard.
Cliff, Thanks for the compliment and yes he does have birds that could resemble the SHO stuff and thier is some similar lineage through the Kumro side. Dennis is somewhat overshadowed by his brother but when it comes to evaluating stock they both are equal LOL! IMHO Ivan
