Hey guys,
wanted to share pics of my new kitboxes. They are 4x4x3 each side. The one on the right is finished with V-Perch, the left still has the box perch, soon to be redone..Still need to trim the outside corners with 1x4, and then paint it all.Last pic is some of my breeding boxes, custom made by me..LOL..Jerry

I like the idea for the drop trap, but will it keep out the unwanted visitors?

Tapp,
I have 2 free standing kitboxes, then these 2, so hopefully wont be building any more soon..LOL..
Sundance,
I have used this type for 3 years and the only trouble I have had is a 6' black snake last year that swallowed 1 whole..Big surprise when I opened the door and seen the rest of the tail going down his throat..LOL
Dave,
I have 22 V-perches, and usually 2 will sit on top of the trap, I put cleats on there for that purpose. I can add 6 more if needed, but with the 4 kit boxes, I doubt I will need to, as my luck with my kits the past 3 years isnt good.
I know what ya mean about the snow/ice covered ground..We have had our share this year...Jerry

Thanks Justin..I give them all they want to eat, and watch closely to make sure all are eating and drinking plenty..
Thanks Luis, the floors have 1/2" holes drilled every 4 inches, and they also get air flow from one trap hole, thru a vent at the top of the center divider to the other trap hole. I haven't had a bird get out, or even try to escape. We have several local guys that use the same style, and no one has lost a bird yet.
Kel, I was planning on painting the interior today, with the warmer temps, and sun, but didnt get to it..Maybe by the weekend..Jerry

Justin,
I will take pics of the inside tomorrow so you can see it..I will give ya demensions with the pics....
Thanks Nick..Kinda just started building, and thats what turned out..LOL..It will work til I build something different..
Luis, I believe that would work out slick..Double traps..LOL..I would just take the bobs out if it was mine, and makes it easier for training the young, instead of pushing a few bobs back..But, either way would prevent them from pushing the bobs back to escape..I had that happen when I used them years ago, which is why I dont use them now....Jerry

Thanks for all of the compliments guys, very much appreciated!

Scott, the wife has been gone for 8 days to Jamaica, and that gave the girls and I a chance to do DADS honey do list, and that was on the top..LOL..

Bob, the ice chest hasn't been taken out yet, just getting warm enough to enjoy the outdoors..Won't be long tho..LOL

Thanks Tapp, I had the tan paint left over from another project, and when the girls and I were at Wal-Mart, they had the dark brown on clearance for $4.00, so I couldn't pass it up, and it matched good..

I was gonna paint it red, but this way it semi matches my house, except the dark brown..LOL

Thanks again Guys!

Jerry,

You might take it as an insult or you might take it as a complement...That is your choice.

If it was up to me I would consider the glass half full and take it as a complement that I have beautiful daughters. I have a daughter of my own and I know where you are coming from (lol). Igor was not disrespectful in his post but was out of line. I think Igor owes you an apology for that remark.

Jerry I would kick his, I will be 18 may 2 and I would never tell there dad that, its bad enough when male dogs come around when I have my dog out (where did I put that gun) but I'm old school. It's good when dads keep an eye on there girls, mabe there would be less babys with moms under 18. Justin

Justin, I am the same way, grew up old school, with
parents that taught me to say yes Sir, and yes Ma'am to those older than myself, and to not stand and watch 2 guys beat on one, without putting my licks in....But, this is afterall only words on a computer, so no real threat.

How are your birds doing this year?

LOL...yep, was raised when the times were a tad bit different, as most of us on here were. It seems the respect thingy is irrelevant these days in society. But, it boils down to our morals, or lack of..many a good people on this site tho, and I like ya all.
