Well, if you have paired your best to the best and feel good about it then fly the red offspring. Color don't mean a shitten ass thing anyway, does it?
If they are producing a high percentage of solid performers, I think you would be happy with everything else to include the color.
Just my opinion........of course.

try mating the young back to the parents. Maybe a young red back to red mother will produce yellow and young red back to father etc. Just my thought.

If all the colors you mentioned were cocks, and you said they were all mated to red hens, if those hens are ash red, then all of the red young you raised are automatically cock birds. Recessive red is totally different.

If you don't know the difference between Ash Red and Recessive Red, if you post pics, we'll be able to help you. Nick is right though - if performance is of the utmost importance to you, you may just be in a pickle.
Me personally, I don't have any Rec. Red in my loft - only one Ash Red too. I don't care for the color so choose not to include it in my stock. If Red is an issue for you, you may consider trying to isolating it into a sub-family or doing away with the majority of it and replacing it with the quality of roller you want, in the color you want.

You haven't provided enough information to be certain what you are dealing with. In addition to the important ash red versus recessive red question, are the cocks you call "white", "dun", and "silver", blue pigeons or ash red pigeons? White is most likely homozygous grizzle (both of the 2 genes carried for normal versus grizzle are grizzle) and may also include the pied gene. Homozygous grizzle blue pigeons are white with dark stork markings on the ends of flights. Homozygous ash red grizzle pigeons are mostly white with a few small red marks on their necks. Dun or silver can mean dilute blue as in "silver dun", or dun or silver can be the color appearance of an ash red with the spread gene that can appear as brown or silver (called lavender). If the cocks are blue pigeons, you will be able to get some blue offspring. If they are homozygous (both of the 2 color genes the cock carries are the same) ash red cocks mated with ash red hens, you won't. If a cock is heterozygous - appears ash red but also carries blue (you will see black spots called ticks in their tail and flights), you will get some blue offspring - approximately 25% of total offspring should be blue hens.
Recessive red colors the wing flights and tail with red. Recessive red birds that are blue underneath versus ash red may have a gray back. Ash red birds that are not recessive red have ash colored tail and flights. With respect to recessive red: 1) If both the cock and hen are recessive red (each carry two genes for recessive red versus normal), all offspring will be recessive red. 2) If one is recessive red and the other carries it (does not appear recessive red), 50% will be recessive red and 50% will carry it. 3) If one is recessive red and the other is not, none will be recessive red but all will carry it. 4) If neither the cock or hen appears recessive red, but both the cock and hen carry one copy of the recessive red gene, 25% of the offspring will be homozygous recessive red and appear recessive red, 50% will carry but not appear recessive red, and 25% will not carry recessive red.

So, we are going to change the pairings to change the color? I guess that is one way to improve performance. Never would have thunk it myself.....geesh, it is simple.

George,
Well, I can't think of any cute combinations to put with "George" and I have been called "Slick" before(LOL).
What I am trying to say, George if you have paired your best to your best and you feel good about what you have paired then who gives a darn about the color of the offspring. Why would you want to change the pairings until the performance of the offspring has been evaluated?
Apparently it is something you didn't do(90% being red) and I am not in disagreement with you.
I made this not in direct conflict with your immediate post; just a general comment to the thread in its entirety.
Sorry, if I offended.

Many have been mostly the horner stuff with the remaining either my Black Elvis stuff and occasionally a Reed based bird. When was the last time you saw a RR in my kits?..lol.
