I have some of Monty's birds. They are strong flyers, and low flyers. I'm told they are slow to mature but mine seem to start rolling at 6 months. I'm told they are stiff if you don't manage them properly. They are very athletic, feel like little homers if you feed them up too much. Spud

Chai, Nice looking birds.I have a few kitboxes and a breeder loft full of Monty birds.I aquired my breeders from guys that got their originals from Monty.Al Hunt is one gentleman who gave me a good bunch of birds and he says they can take up to a year before they really start to show the goods.I've only had rollers 1 year and am learning alot about training them but the hawks and falcons caused me to lockdown all winter. So having to be patient right now and concentrating on foster breeding the three semi proven pairs I have.If I had only one pair of birds from that family,I'd breed as many(search on this site "fostering")from that pair this season and fly the young out till fall when and if the birds of prey get serious again.See what you get!The earliest bred might show something by October.Oh yeah!!Welcome to the Roller nut World!!Good Luck.---------- Kelly PSbe careful that wire you have looks a little big if a squeaker was sitting up against that and a hawk lands on the side of your cage the squeak could be gondi.
