Hi list I got 8 birds from Scott all dark checks. I was trying to find out what were hens what were cocks. My frirend Frank Kazor was over, he's been in tiplers all his life and is now getting into rollers. Any how we we standing there and I had 2 cocky Cambell cocks in a pen. So I went out to my out house loft and grabbed a a white specked almond hen and put in with the 2 campbell cocks. They got all wild eyed and literally clung to the side of the cage in fear .As if I had put a coopers hawk in with them!! I' mean they were scared shit less. When I put in a dark hen they would instantly strut there stuff. we would put the white hen back in and the same thig would happen. We laughed are asses off. Them Campbell darkie birds never seen a bird of color and were terrified!!! I'm not making this up for laughs. It really happened. Ps, Scott I like the pearl eye and the orange eye. Very nice bunch of birds you sent me. Guys I bought one pair on NBRC auction and it warmed up enough they could be shipped. Scott sent me 8 birds very generous gesture . Thank you Scott my friend. Kim Tappenden, ps, The white's are for fostering the Campbell eggs!!!!!!!!! Tapp

LOL

That is funny, but you know what? The same thing happened to Clyde Davis when I sent him some birds! They were petrified.

Crap...now I know why that Campbell hen keeps turning her nose up at my red grizzle cock. And all this time I just thought she was a prude.

Brian,

Yeah I havent been around a whole lot lately. Trying to get the house sold, finishing the basement, looking for a new place, field trial season started(Which I'm about to walk out the door to head to Grovespring, MO for a American Field National Derby Championship to run the 19th-23rd) ITs been rough.

Battle with the city didnt fair that well. The guy from Dept of Health was going to be to much of an @$$ about everything and so even if we had jumped through all the hoops and paid all the vet check fees, BS, ETC...we still faced a lawsuite from our neighbor over the entire thing. It was just easier to move the loft to a friends place, and work with the birds there. So the birds are now a 30 min drive from our current place.

I havent been flying much, infact like I told Paul the other day I don't even have a kit put together. Paul sent me some really nice birds and I pulled several right off the bat to stock. Others I chose to fly out a bit. But with only being able to get down a couple days a week to work with the birds it was just easier to put the rest in the loft and leave them for the winter. Nothing is laying right now, which is fine with me due to time constraints. However my wife and I were out looking at property this afternoon and will be putting an offer in. Ranch house with 7 acres a 25 x 50 pole barn with heated wood working shop, space for two stalls for horses(down the road if we want), and NO FLIPPING NEIGHBORS!!! Its fields and treelines for almost 500 acres. So if we can come to an agreement on the house, and get this place sold, hopefully next year at this time I'll have a few kits flying.

As for the Campbell stuff...The only bird I have is the Droopy wing hen from Paul, She's a 98 bird (1313-NBRC-98-V) Maybe Scott can tell me more about her. All I know is she's freakin got it and throws it to her offspring. I have a couple of birds stocked from her and a Andalusian ;) cock.

When and if we ever get this place sold and moved into the new house, Your more than welcome to come up Brian...I can use all the help I can get!

Matt
