-Well now I know how you all feel when you lose your A team. Thursday at 11:30am I let my 17 bird A team out,2 hrs later 3 came back, other 14 are long gone. And only 2 months till my first W/C fly. Well now it will be NBRC fall fly for me. I've had a gut ache all weekend.Good news I'm breeding 2 pair of Campbells, 6 pair of Weins, and 5 pair of Mee's, with some fosters also. and still have a kit of 25 birds to fly! And my friend Morris DeRyke brought me 18 Weins kit birds this mornning to settle and fly out.Well Nick, Scott,Paul,David, Now I truly know what you went through. You can't really know the pain till it happens. Sad thing is it will happen to me agin some day.- Ps,Tony, I hate these's kind of post to get to the 1000pt mark!-------- Tapp

Tapp,
Man that sucks big time. I really know how it hurts...It took me a couple years to get my team where I wanted it....qualified for the finals and then BAM....gone. As long as you get some of you birds back..it helps get the other birds going. My B-team was just ok...but I got about 5 birds back and they really made the B-team step it up a notch...I was lucky to get the "Base" of my A-team back..there is something to be said about the birds that come back...they have heart.
There are times when it is getting closer to this W/C fly that I wish I had that team...the longer they fly together the better! It is funny how mid breeding season you are saying damn...I have a lot of birds...all you kit boxes are full...then 6 months later you have one empty...15 in one team in 18 in another..LOL!!
Everytime I let my birds out right now...I cross my fingers with the W/C being so close....if the weather is iffy at all or I get a weird feeling ...I shut the door...on thing that I use is the birds...if I open the door and they all just sit there...I close it....because the A-team...never just sits there....anyway...get back on the horse

Tapp Sometimes when scared off by a BOP they might not come back for a day or two. I have found that its still a gut hurtin while there gone wanting to know the final damage to me and the birds.

Tapp, sorry to here that. We`ve most all been there by now and like you said, if it hasnt happened yet it probably will. I lost mine last year, about the same thing happened. At least you got anouther kit to work with and plenty of good breeder stock in the loft. Glad to hear you finnally got your Campbell birds. You should have some great stuff to work with in a couple months. Just keep plucking away at it. Butch

Tapp.It always seems to happen to the best kit.I have never lost my Cull kit.Hawks won't bother it either.Guess they know the difference.LOL. Here's hoping you get a few more back.I had one return 5 days later so there is hope. It's a feelin you never get over and every time I open the A team door I wonder if something bad is going to happen.David

Tapp,
I know how ya feel.....I lost 16 of my "A" Team and I don't have much of a "B" Team. I probably won't put up a full 20 team kit for the WC, but I think I can do 16 or 17.
It is an awfull feeling....gets ya right in the gut. I wish I could help ya.

Tough break, Kim. I have been fortunate enough not to have ever experienced that loss, but know of so many who have done so. I won't hold you to that donation for the convention, buddy, unless you have a really great breeding season, and still want to do it!! YITS, Cliff
