This hen has flown since 2004 and has been my best kit bird the last 2 years. And has been in 2 overflys and has always came back i noticed that this line of birds have a very good homing instinc.

Nice looking bird. The homing instinct is often overlooked in rollers. I love those type. Say, where do you get those long aluminum bands made John? Curious.

based on my expierence the Pensom line of birds has a better homing ability than say the jaccs

but the jaccs are more frequent and fly a lot slower and dont fly at the height that the old school pensom's

John , another reason to fly birds long and hard , I have picked up birds a mere few miles away only to get lost again.
Those ones that tend to make it home regardless also seem to be the one's that out smart the sharks time and time again also.

George , I fly old line blood , frequency is not a problem with the good one's , it is all in selection , the stiffness in a lot of the families out of the old lines stems I believe from pedigree breeding .
But once my birds are mature handling can be a chore , but when it's good it is very good , many Jaq families carry to much roll and there is a heavy price for to much frequency , I've flown them and could never go back.

Scott good call they do seem to avoid getting caught by the predators they are the core of a good kit.
