Kel,
I like the little touch of artwork inside the kitbox....cool. You have a nice place and setup. Do you pull your traps up from 350 ft by hand or do you use a wench?

Thanks Guys, Hey Nick! The 2 traps together weigh about 25 lbs when they're loaded so I pull up the slack then cleat the rope off and go ahead on it slow and the friction in the water on the traps makes them rise up on an angle closer to the surface. Then I back up on the slack pulling it in quick because the traps want to sink again.Do that about 4 or 5 times and they're in the boat. The artwork is where I had V-perches and had painted the wall the perch and the works.I decided to put in the box perches to fit more birds in the box.As you can see where I had 6 perches before now 12 to 16 birds can sit there if some don't mind sitting on the bottom.Didn't quite leave enough room under that bottom perch for scraping the shit out.Shoulda put wire on the whole floor too as I'm continually scraping shit off the plywood on the sides.Next double one I build will give me 5 kitboxes so maybe after the trial and error of the first 3 the next one will be perfect.I'm not big on plans,eh so post and beam is my favorite way to build.Hah!!Maybe I'll try that next box. ---------- Kelly

Hell Kelly, I thought you did the "artwork" on purpose....LOL. It still looks cool.
I am going to build two single kitboxes this year. I have a double and it is heavy. Instead of building another double I have decided to build two singles so I can move them easily. I am no longer the stupid gorilla I used to be and I am tired of having my guts shoot thru my ass while lifting heavy stuff.

Nick, That's supposed to be when your buddies come over to give a hand, but yeah the doubles are heavy especially using 4X4s for the base.4 guys to lift it.One good reason to have a fishing boat to take freinds out. Then when I ask for a hand they won't say no!! ---------- Kelly
