I was wondering if anyone here fly in an individual competition? If so can you tell me how it works?

There are some clubs who fly single bird competition and in the UK it is often done. I know the World Cup and the NBRC does not fly individual bird comp., but the 11 bird kit competition of the NBRC Fall Fly is about as close as you come.

Check with the clubs in your area, there may be some who do.

We don't fly single bird competitions over here in England. What we do on all major flys we pick an individual bird out of all the kits that flew in that competition an award that bird. In the All of England fly we award this special bird with the rose bowl. Hope this helps.

Our club does the same as Wayne said. When I am having a roller Certified I fly at least 10 birds with it.I don't like flying any kit under this amount. Also most rollers will perform better when flying with other rollers. The thing to remember in scoring a single roller is that it can be easily identified from the others so the judge can see what it is doing.David
