I only have 9 out and flying, lost 4 early on to various things, 3 flew off and 1 got it by a coopers.
I have a nice full round in the nest of about 14 or so and another round hatching right now, I have double nests and it works pretty good. I also have 4 pair of fosters that do a good job, they are another breed.

Kelly,
No heated loft here. I have never had a problem breeding in cold weather, the problem is that I don't want to breed too early because the weather and hawks don't permit flying the babies here until around late March or early April. I'm actually about 2 weeks behind when I usually breed the first round.

Hi Dave....
Is the red splash in frame #2 out of 514 bloodline.... or is that youngster a descendent from your Old Boston family?
Just wondering.
Dave & V99... love those Dark checks & Blue bars!

Marcus,
I don't have any "old Boston family", you must be thinking about Joe Testa, he has those. That red splash is heavy in my Eagle line, which go back way in the past to Evans birds, and it also has about a quarter Ivan Hanchett line in it, which goes back to Bruce Cooper birds.

Thought Joe Testa was the Boston Family man. I have a pair of his birds as my desktop background on my computer where all the icons and folders are.
Ooops... think I might have seen you two in a magazine or on the Internet in some photo's. Appears my thoughts wasn't thinking straight and things got mixed up.
Yeah Dave, that Eagle line is good stuff I hear.
Both you and Joe are east coast flyers... correct? I think Ron Kumro is out that way too. Just trying to get my regional directory straight regarding Birmingham Roller fanciers in the NBRC.
Keep'em flying & rolling.

Thanks Jerry,
There has to be quite a bit of dark in my stock birds because so far I've got at least 1 blue check out of each pair of young. Even when I cross Red Bar Grizzle over Red W/F. or Mealy Bar over a Red W/F hen. It's a good thing I'm not out for fancy colors.LOL
Jerry and Tony, I may not be able to make it Saturday. My dad is in the hospital in Kansas City having some test run, to see if he needs a heart valve or a new heart. So I may have to be up there for my mom if they keep him. Hope they don't have to keep him but we'll see.
