Here's the address for the World Cup web site: http://www.worldcupfly.com/
Four regions have already posted their results. Dennis Hayes is doing a great job on the web site as usual. I am striving to have timely, complete, and accurate regional results listed this year, so that you can follow along as the 2007 World Cup Fly unfolds.

Joe Urbon just called me and said he is leading with 3-4 kits to go here in nor cal valley regional. He said he has like 238 from 18 breaks and 2nd place has 118, actually 2nd, 3rd and 4th are about 1 pt diffence with 117to118 Think he said that Dwight Wallace, Paul Fullerton and Chuck Roe are virtually tied. dave

Guys, After all the prep and planning. After the judging and note taking. After breeding last year, training squeaks and reading tons of info, the World Cup came to my house.
The birds were in top form. Ready to go, 18 blasted out of the kitbox. Right into a 20 mph wind.
They performed admirably in spite of the wind. No out birds, flew the time did everything they could in the short time they were in the sky. I had nine turns, scored 197. The multipliers were 1.5 q and 1.4 d. Had a 10 and a 14 for the big breaks. Mostly sevens and eights. No finals this year but the FF is just around the corner. ---------- V99 Flippin`The Bird!

Hey KH, You've been knocking on the door and it will open up one of these times. I have said it a million times sometimes its better to be lucky than good. Nice job considering mother nature threw you a curve. Very respectable. I believe my buddy Johnny Mosqueda won the high desert region and qualified as well with a 499. Congrats to him and his hard work. Its good to see some new blood penetrating through to the finals. You gotta love Alex Hamiltons consistancy Master flyer winner of the national 11 bird fly and always at the top of the score sheet with not only wins but big wins with alot of points and big breaks with good multipliers. Congrats to him as well for making the dance. As far as I'm concerned all who participate are all winners in my books. Keep up the good work. Your friend Ivan

Thanks Scott, I am told it ended up less than a point between 2nd,3rd and 4th. I came up with a score of 264.5 and I believe Dwight Wallace was second with 118 and Paul Fullerton and Chuck Roe both with 117 something. Congrats Joe!!!!
...my B-team...tanked..LOL!! Anyway...Dwight got second and then Chuck and Then Me....Dwight had 118.?? then chuck had 118?? and then I had 117.??...and the kits flew almost exactly the same...they were real hot the first 10 minutes and then our birds just shut down...and started riding the air streams...lots of gliding....Chuck, Dwight and I talked and could not figure it out...we were thinking the weather...we all use a little different feeding schedule...and felt pretty strong about where we were.....but I think there were some strong winds up high..the birds would have a nice wing beat one way and then make a turn...and glide..they were having fun instead of working..LOL...anyway...everyone else put up some good kits...Ken Firl was right up there....Bill C...anyway..it was nice to meet Brian Middaugh in person..what a cool cat....Again..Congrats to Dwight and Joe!!!

Way to go, Joe! Same for Dwight, Chuck, Paul, and Ken. What would happen in the event of a tie? Is there a WC rule to handle ties? Cliff

Cliff, if there is a tie then both kits would make the finals. Its the only fair thing to do and its what has happened in the past.

For the most part yes Nick. I added two birds this year that were comming in nice enough to replace a couple from last year. Joe ---------- J.M.Urbon Lofts A Proven Family of Spinners http://www.freewebs.com/jmurbonlofts/

Well guy's, I DQ ed. My bird's came out too hot, they couldnt get the altitude and three rolled though the telephone wires,2 got hurt pretty bad and landed, that cought the attention from the third and landed on the wires too,and that was it all that prep work, the odd thing is those 3 never landed on that wire. O well ill start working them for the F/F.
I think they would have come out of the box and got up high if i would have left them alone. they where just breaking too low. Good luck to everyone els, Hector Coya

Good weekend for the Northern California Region. Congratulations to Joe Urbon and Dwight Wallace. What a way to represent!!! Just wish I could've seen Joe's kit fly and eat at Dwight's BBQ...heard both were smokin.
Brian Middaugh did a fine job and it was a pleasure to finally meet him. At times we kinda got carried away talking chickens, but ITS ALL GOOOD huh Brian? Kevin Naylor did an outstanding job as RD, keeping everything in a timely fashion. Good job Kevin.
Chuck Roe, Paul Fullerton, Ken Firl, and everyone who flew in the Northern California Region, good job guys.
YIS,
Chris

What a week for me, meet a few new guys and meet Brian who was our judge really cool guy, i also flew my first fly ever and didn't score at all cause of out birds and a bird that came down early that had never did that before and had one that crash into a tree hard that didn't want to come out, then it just got worst from there LOL.. Brian gave me some pointers and some encouraging comments, got so much to learn so far from achieving my goals in this sport but what a experince though, a feeling thats almost unexplainable, i will never forget this day and i was really happy to support the region and congrats to Joe Urbon and Dwight Wallace!!! some really really good kits....Good Luck on the final Guys!!!
