I have been busy working on a new kitbox for the birds I don't have yet. I still waiting on the tin yet. But I just had to show it off....

I have the storage compartment on both sides. I figure it will come in handy.

This is the front.

I went to pipe elbows after coons got in through the trap & killed most of my Kitbirds this winter.

This is the inside with homemade V perches each kitbox hold 28 birds, plus 1 gallon of water. :)

Hopefully that used tin (matches my barn) will come this week??? Then I can finish it and use it!!

Nice boxes Jim,
At first thought I pictured the side boxes as water container holders. I am adding that to mine, as to keep the water out of the inside of the box. Lots of ventilation, and cool traps....nice Job!

Looks good Jim, but one thing I would have changed is the use of 1/2-inch wire on the bottom. That small of wire really gathers the crap if you don't keep it scraped regularly. My first kit boxes had 1/2 inch floor wire and it was a real pain when the crap dries. I guess if you are in a humid climate it might not be that difficult, but here in our arid climate, when the crap would dry, it is like epoxy..lol

Supper nice job Jim, I would think about what Brian said about the wire. I had 1/2 in. And it's hard to change once you have the birds in there. Now's the time to change it. you will be glad you did. I'm not trying to find fault. As it's a beautiful kit box! Just save you a head ache!

Nice kit boxes..

Watch out for the coons, if they can get their head threw a hole they can usually get their body threw...
