Rest In Peace Lilly Ann Siders. 1995 - 2007

The best mouser I ever saw and a dedicated snake killer. A good, good, good animal. She was overcome by cancer this morning. She will be missed.

Sorry about the non-pigeon thread, but I had her picture on here before and if you come to my home expecting to see her you will not find her. My second dog in the last two years and it may be the last.

Hey Nick, There's no loss like the loss of your dog. Thier always irreplacable! Also, not many dogs can catch a mouse, plus keep snakes & cats away. He must have had a good trainer. All the rollers in the world can't come close to the bond a man makes with his dog! I share in your sorrow. Otis

A long time ago God decided to seperate mankind from all the animals of the world. He begin to create a chasm to seperate them and as it begin to spread open at the last moment the dog jumped over to be with man.

I have been told this was a Native American story and even though our modern thinking tells us that it is just a tail I still like to think it is real. Not true; just real. How else can you adequatly explain this phenom?

I feel our relationship with the dog was made possible because the dog accepted us into his life.

Nick, I share your pain. In August our 12 and a half year old golden had to be euthanized because of cancer. Our kids are grown, and this dog became our best buddy. She was one of those rare dogs that never pissed you off. We competed with and titled her at obedience trials, but her happiest place was positioned between my wife and I walking along proudly showing off her "family." I have 17 hounds outside, and we have had 5 "house" dogs in 43 years of marriage. Like you, I'm not sure if we will have another. Gotta admit though that I have started looking at golden pups on the internet.
Condolences-Geo.

Nick , I know what you are going through , I just went through it a couple of years ago with a 16 year old Lab , to top it off I broke my leg severly going down my hill to get him when he couldn't make it up .
My next oldest is Sammy at 11 or so,the old guy goes with me every where.
They no doubt become a part of us and our families and it is a sad day when they leave us.

Sorry to hear about your loss. They seem to become one of the family. The lose is hard, you will never be able to replace her but I would say..... get a new dog, she will find a way to your heart in no time.

Hi Kel,
No, not a handler, just a road deputy. I do train with the handler now and then. She will be certified tho in patrol work, and narcotics, and I will be able to use her on duty then after a year. We have a very relaxed boss, as long as the dog is certified, that will protect you, the dog, and the department from any unwanted situations that shall arise in a court situation. Thanks, we love her.

Pretty dogs there Kel...Nice flowers also.

Appreciate it guys. Everytime it happens it amazes me how it devistates me. It is just a dog, right? It is funny how important these animals are to us. They actually don't ask for much and they try thier damdest to please us.

Kelly, The no shedding makes them interesting....hmmm

Nick,
They do pull their old hair out themselves a bit,but it doesn't fly all over everytime you give them a scratcheroo or pet them. They love to get plucked it feels good.Hey,if you do get to feeling like having another true buddy,Google Australian Terrier Club of America. There are breeders down around your area.I'm hoping our female black and tan,Dulcita has a litter later this year.Wife wouldn't let me put one on a plane to ya tho.She doesn't think it's safe for some reason. She'd sleep with 6 of them on the bed tho,if I let her.As it is,theres 2 there right now to shove over to her side before I get in.----------
