When a pair mates are both eggs fertile from the first
time or does each egg need to be fertilized independently?
Point in case, if you are using a cock on several pairings would he need to mate with each hen more then once? Thanks for any help.

Needs to mate the hen several times up to the point of laying.

Can the first egg be fertile by one cock and the second egg by another in open loft breeding?

Thanks Tripp

Tripp,

I would agree somewhat to the 25%. I would like to think my percentage is smaller.....but, I don't know.

Val,

Good question that I wondered about. I know in mammels more than one male can be the sire of liters.

I would like somebody who knows answer this question.
