Hey Paul I gut this sent to ma today. You will apreciate it. Enjoy, Joe
THIS EXPLAINS THE ORIGIN OF WHY MEN STARTED WEARING EARRINGS.
A man notices that his co-worker is wearing an earring. This man knows his co-worker to be a normally conservative fellow, and is curious about his sudden change in "fashion sense."
"So," he says, "I didn't know you were into earrings."
"Don't make a big deal of it, it's only an earring," the co-worker replies peevishly.
His friend falls silent for a few minutes, but then his curiosity prods him to say, "So, how long have you been wearing one?"
"Ever since my wife found it in my truck."
I always wondered how this trend got started and now I know.

Here is the real reason pirates wore gold earrings. When the pirates were a real threat up and down the Barbary and Gold Coasts, the life span of a pirate was less than thirty years. Not only did he have to worry about occupational hazards, there was the very real "backstabbing" occurring in this hostile work environment. Pirates didn`t want to be buried at sea.It was largely believed that the ghosts of their victims resided in the sea. Since most pirates operated within cannon shot of the coasts, burial at sea was not a necessity. They wore these large gold hoops in their ears to pay for thier burial. Personally I have my doubts as to how many were actually buried on land, but thats the story.
My story as well as most others in this era is to be cool and shock the parents. Earings tattoos and loud rock music. I bet Paul was too cool with his mullet and parachute pants.

OK, Paul, I'll help you along with your 1,000 post target. I had my dual earrings from the age of 16 to 36. I was an apprentice sheetmetal worker for a time and I made big dangly ones in a variety of shapes - now that really wound up the staid, older guys! They went great with the very long hair and snakeskin platform soled boots (circa 1975).
But these other guys don't seem to appreciate that's what us musicians do. How's your horn?

Wayne, I'm 50 and I still have those platform soled boots. I bought them in 1974 in Kensington Market in London. I was supposed to be on a weekend break, but they cost me everything I had with me, so I went straight back to Newcastle with no money left for digs. Trouble was, the heels were six inches, so none of my Pants (loons - big flares - at the time) were long enough. I had to practice walking in the buggers. I think they're worth a bob or two now, but I'm still hoping they come back into fashion, so I'll hang on to them.
And my pierced holes haven't healed up yet, so I could still get a pair of dangly ones in there at any time!

Another cool cat!! The horn is doing fine...I have not picked it up in awhile...just so busy..actually I play it about half the time I used to since getting the birds...LOL!
But I can still pick it up and play a tune or two...I just moved the Yanigasawa T-902..it is bronze and has a darker tone...and sounds real good. But it I want to open her up..I will put on the metal mouthpiece and BAM..Rock and ROLL...

I sit on the patio and play for my birds. I have a radio going a lot of the time too. I think it gets them used to "odd sounds". Keeps them from being as flighty.
`86 v300 Ibanez acoustic I got second hand ten years ago. Also have a 78 Ovation Magnum bass. They`ll pry that one from my cold dead hands. Sweetest bass I have ever picked up.Ebony fret board. Long scale Maple body. Schaller tuners. Floating bridge.Smooth as silk.Makes a Les Paul feel light. ---------- V99 Flippin`The Bird!
