West You can get a kit of 20 birds in there easily. But if i was you i would reduce the depth in the kit box so you can handle your birds easily also if you have box perches you also can scrape um when need cleaning, Box perches and rails is common over here in uk but you can also use v perches, Hope it helps you west Regards W@YNE UK ---------- Patience Perseverance Perfection =====================================

It looks like you have a deep kit box. 5' --- Why?? You would have a problem catching a bird. Any way, a team consists of 20 birds, so the max really you want there is 24 to 25 birds at any one time.

Westie,
Are you just going to use it as a kitbox with seperate area for your breeders?

West, you might start off not wanting to breed any, but when you start to fly rollers, you'll sustain losses. Even if you obtain squeakers which have never been flown, you can lose one or more when settling them. If you get older birds which have been flown elsewhere, settling can be harder still, as some will disappear trying to get back to where they came from. Even assuming you're successful in settling all your birds, you're likely to lose some to preditors - the main ones in the UK being the sparrowhawk and the peregrine. In addition to predators, if you're really unlucky, you could lose the whole lot in one hit if there's a flyaway. Oh, and some might get sick or injured and will die or have to be culled.
As an example, I bred 66 birds last year. For one reason or another, I have just 21 left.
Another way of looking at it, suppose you really enjoy what you see in the air, then you lose it/them. Good rollers are not easy to replace, which is why we keep on breeding 'em.
