Maybe you guys can help me out with this one. I put down a red T chk cock with blue chk hen and got a blue ck squeaker. I breed in individuals, and the bird wasn’t with another bird before that cock. Oh ya the cock has no black flaking.

In my experience with my Ruby Roller family, the dark check squeeker will be a hen. What about the nestmate, is it Ash Red showing black flecking? If so, this is the cock.
Does the red check cock have blue in its pedigree?? ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

Try this one. I put an black cockbird on an andy hen and got a red check. I also got a red bar from an ash red on a black t check. T check`s dad was a red bar so I wasn`t really surprised.
In the later rounds the "hidden" colors start popping up.Thats what is so cool about rollers. ---------- V99 Flippin`The Bird!

If the cock has white flights it can hide the fleking. If your positive its out of that cock he's carrying blue.
P.S. Tony's right it will be a hen. ---------- Ron

If it wasn’t for gray bar on the tail, I would have thought it was rec red. The rec reds I have are solid red no gray any where. Anyways, the cock has a few white feathers on the tail. I have opened up the tail and wings, and there are no flaks any where. Like Nick would say, weird ain’t it?
