Rudy,
Nice pictures looks like ya'll were having a great time, some good looking birds.
This is another reason I am getting back into rollers, I have missed my birds since I let them go; however, I really miss the friends, the get togethers, the social side of our hobby/passion.
One of the first persons I had the great fortune to know for many years was "Wilke Wilkerson" up in Post, Texas. He had a BBQ every year and put out a spread that was absolutely amazing. Got to meet a lot of rollermen every time and the food & birds were over the top.
He would feed you until you were ready to bust them go through out his loft and send you home with birds. He took great pride in helping folks out with birds. Poor Dennis who lived in the same town, if Wilke had given away all his birds that he could and folks still wanted more he would take you over to Dennis' and start pulling from him. Dennis was a great guy, he didn't mind as he knew he was going to get a bunch more from Wilke. If you saw a bird fly in his kits that you really liked, when they trapped in you could go get it and wilke would say yes or no, funny thing, I don't remember him ever saying no????
We lost Wilke several years ago, I sure do miss him...
Then there were the get togethers that our local club had regularly at Art's & Frank's, we sure had some good times. There was always a bunch of great rollermen at these gatherings as well. Within our club we would always share birds and info.
That's what I am talking about, way to go Rudy, thanks for sharing got me thinking/remembering all the good times.

Rudy,
I recently rejoined the NBRC and I was wondering what roller clubs/organizations are active here in Texas?
Do they have websites? Do you know who cpontact in the ones that you are familiar with so I can get some info about their organization? I was a member of the Texas Performing Roller Club years ago, not sure that I have the name correct.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dang it Rudy, quit posting picks of them grilled steaks. I come on RPDC for five minutes and I have to leave to get me something to eat. You don't make it easy on a fella.
Looks like you love that grill as much as your roller loft.
