Nice for your first kitbox!! You might want to add some wires or something on that kitbox so the birds won't get out after they come back in.

Keep up the good work!!

Its always great to see pics of everyones ideas. Kinda reminds me of my first loft when I was about your age. Do what you can with what you got. And you do have all the basics covered. They shed water to keep the birds dry ,they look to be well ventilated and they function just right for your needs. Good job ! ! ! !

Sucider,
Thanks for sharing.
Here is a photo of my first loft when I was a kid.
Back then I had no idea people flew there rollers out of kit boxes, so I flew all my breeders and young birds out of my loft.

Ray,

Same here, I flew my mated birds (breeders) and all of the rest almost daily. If they where sitting on a nest they didn't fly. Didn't know about kitboxes either. I had a large chest-of-drawers for my first loft with all the drawers pulled out; chicken wire and wood scraps finishing it out and nailed to the back of the garage.

You do what you need to do for the love it. Those birds get locked into your soul and become a big part of who you are. They where a poor kid's magic world; a world of flight; a world of beauty; a world of wonder.

I guess you can tell I am getting old, huh?

Sucider,
I'd put smaller mesh wire on the front there as hawks can stick there claws in there and rip your birds.Weasels rats and mice could get in that big wire too.1"X1" is about as big as the wire should be.
